Description: The classic flamestitch has its origins in sixteenth and seventeenth century European embroidery, possibly created to mimic the look of Asian ikat textiles, which arrived in Italy during this era via the Silk Road. The French versions were large scaled, multicolored panels and were known as Bergamo. Our newest and dramatic interpretation of this time-honored classic is at once modern and glamorous, embroidered in a matte-shine effect against natural linen. The palette ranges from subtly neutral to richly exotic, for easily accenting contemporary and traditional spaces as curtains, light upholstery, headboards and decorative pillows.
